WHAT WE TAKE

The following two charts indicate household Items We Can Take and Items We Cannot Accept. Be sure to check the list of ITEMS WE CANNOT ACCEPT.  If you are unsure about an item, please call our office at 206.767.5280.

The Sharehouse must give priority to those items most needed by our recipients. We may not be able to accept items that are too big or otherwise not appropriate.

The Sharehouse reserves the right to decline any donation or part of a donation.

All items must be in good working condition.

The following items must be full size, new and in their original packaging:

The Sharehouse is not able to accept any item with stains, tears, broken or missing pieces, or that is not working. The Sharehouse reserves the right to decline any donation based on its condition and/or suitability for distribution.

ITEMS WE CANNOT ACCEPT

NOTE:  The Sharehouse can only take items that can be given to our recipients as they come to us. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
  • Any item with stains, tears, broken or missing pieces
  • Any item that is not operational
  • Armoires or wardrobes that are outfitted for TVs
  • Any armoire or cabinet over 6 feet tall or 4 feet wide
  • Baby furniture or equipment
  • Books
  • Building materials or supplies, including carpet remnants
  • Clothing
  • Computers or computer equipment
  • Couches over 7 feet (84 inches) long
  • Desks larger than 4 feet from side to side and 2 feet from front to back
  • Exercise equipment
  • Food
  • Futon mattresses without frames or futon frames without mattresses
  • Glass top tables more than 4 feet across
  • Hide-a-bed couches
  • Recliner couches
  • King-size mattresses, box springs or bed frames
  • Platform or loft beds
  • Water beds or water bed frames
  • Large appliances like washers, dryers and refrigerators
  • Luggage
  • Office furniture or equipment of any kind (to donate these items, see Gateway Project)
  • Outdoor furniture (except wicker that can be used indoors)
  • Roll-away beds
  • Seasonal decorations (Christmas, Halloween, etc.)
  • Toys
  • TV's larger than 30 inches diagonally across the screen (must be working)
